Shaping Outcomes is a parent led, community Not for Profit, that has been servicing the Northern NSW region for 43 years, support to children with developmental delays and disabilites.
Over that time, community clubs, businesses and individuals raised the money to build, and maintain our facility at the old Tweed Hospital.
This was only possible through the generous donations and support of our parents, local businesses, local clubs and philanthropists.
NSW Health has been promising Shaping Outcomes since 1997 that, if our facility cannot be accommodated at the new Tweed District Hospital location, that they would replace the facility like-for-like or compensate us to build a new facility
Without consultation, Shaping Outcomes has been suddenly evicted from the premise with no intention of compensating us for the facility the Tweed Community built.
This ‘notice to vacate’ has left us with only a matter of months to relocate our services and programs into temporary facilities. These facilities will not be suitable for us long term.
We now urgently need a place our children can belong, receive the care and support vital to their development and build lifelong learning patterns and strong platforms for inclusion within our community.
